UPDATE: Saulsberry murder suspect extradited to DeSoto County
An arrest has been made related to the shooting death of Christian Saulsberry on Saturday morning.
The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department released the following:
At approximately 3:20am Saturday morning, DeSoto County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a shooting call in the 7400 block of Church Rd in Walls. A 25 y/o male, identified as Christian Saulsberry, was shot in the abdomen and leg while attending a party. Saulsberry was pronounced deceased en route to the hospital.
24 y/o Mark McDaniel of Memphis was arrested at his residence by Memphis Police Saturday afternoon. He’s charged with 2nd degree murder & will be extradited to DeSoto County.
This is an ongoing investigation. This is the only information we can release at this time.
UPDATE: The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department reported Tuesday the McDaniel had been extradited from Memphis to DeSoto County and was in the DeSoto County Adult Detention Center, being held without bond. McDaniel has been charged with murder. No date was immediately determined for McDaniel’s first court appearance.
