105-year-old World War II veteran votes absentee in person in DeSoto County

Mr. K.T. Robbins voted absentee in person at the DeSoto County Courthouse, according to a post from the City of Olive Branch. Robbins celebrated his 105th birthday on July 4 and is believed to be Mississippi’s oldest living World War II veteran.

Saturday, Oct. 31, is the last day to vote absentee in person for the Nov. 3 General Election. The DeSoto County Circuit Clerk’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. until noon at the historic courthouse in Hernando for eligible absentee voters.

Mississippi allows registered voters to vote absentee if they meet certain requirements. The listed qualifications include being 65 or older, being out of town on Election Day, working or being on call while polls are open, having a qualifying physical disability, or being a student, teacher or school administrator whose studies or work require being away on Election Day. Other circumstances may also qualify.
