Officials advise parents to exercise caution with gel blaster guns, which can cause public alarm and violate city laws.

Mayor Ken Adams said Olive Branch is observing Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week and celebrating a new location for the Olive Branch Animal Shelter on Polk Lane. The shelter invited residents to visit during business hours to meet animals available for adoption.

Organizers invited the public to a Friday ribbon cutting to support a veteran who helps fellow veterans in the community, the announcement said.

The musical opens April 24 at The Gin at Nesbit, featuring a cast led by Phoebe Seever as Mary Lennox. Tickets are now available.
