Olive Branch among fastest-growing suburbs to live
Sep 3, 2024 – Once again, the city of Olive Branch is being recognized as one of the best places to live in, this time for growing as a city while keeping home values reasonable.
GoBankingRates.com has come out with a new report, ranking the top 50 fastest-growing suburbs in the country with home values under $500,000. In the report, Olive Branch is number six in the nation.
The report touts the city’s July 2024 home value of $329,937. The ranking takes into account the city’s pre-and-post annexation population, which it lists in 2022 at 45,938.
The top five includes the following suburbs:
- Mooresville, N.C.
- Hamtramck, Mich.
- Buckeye, Ariz.
- Union City, Ga.
- Canyon Lake, Texas.
GoBankingRates.com said for its methodology it first found (1) two-year numerical and percent change in total population from 2020 to 2022 for all cities with a population between 25,000 and 200,000. With these cities isolated, GOBankingRates focused on all cities with: a 9% or greater change in population from 2020 to 2022; part of a metro statistical area with above one million in total population; with a July 2024 home value below $500,000. All data was collected and up to date as of Aug. 13.
Olive Branch was the only Mississippi city listed and the only one in the Memphis metro area mentioned.
