Hernando Water Tower Festival returns Saturday
This Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Hernando Courthouse Square will be hosting the Hernando Water Tower Festival. With over 140 vendors, an array of delicious food trucks, and a newly upgraded Kidz Zone, this festival is the perfect family friendly outing.
Every year, the Water Tower Festival features arts and crafts and business vendors for locals and tourists alike to shop from. The arts & crafts festival features paintings, pottery, jewelry, woodworking, leather work, clothing, crochet items, and much more.
Typically, this event features a BBQ contest, but this is the first year that the Hernando Chamber will introduce “Panola Street Eats,” a food truck alley featuring 12 food truck vendors and places for visitors to enjoy their food. There will be an array of different food for everyone to enjoy, including fair food, tacos and quesadillas, street eats, desserts, lemonade, and more.
The 2024 Water Tower Festival will also be unveiling a newly upgraded Kidz Zone, which they are calling Water Tower Tikes. 901 Goats will be on site, allowing participants to pet, cuddle, and brush baby goats. Friendly Neighborhood Spidey, Miss B-Loonie, Blue Line Inflatables, Hernando Duck Hunt, and DeSoto County Farm Bureau will also be in the Kidz Zone. Finally, Junior Auxiliary of DeSoto County will be giving away free TCBY ice cream to the first 100 children to come to the Kidz Zone, as well as face painting, free books, carnival games, and other fun activities for the kids to enjoy.
The weather forecast is showing the perfect day for families to come out to the Hernando square and enjoy shopping, eating, and playing for this year’s Water Tower Festival.
