No mail delivery Thursday for National Day of Mourning

Jan. 8, 2025-The United States Postal Service has announced that it is suspending mail delivery on Thursday, Jan. 9 as President Joe Biden has declared Thursday a National Day of Mourning in respect to the latest President Jimmy Carter, who died at the age of 100 on Dec. 29, 2024.

In a statement, the Postal Service said it will suspend regular mail deliveries, retail services and administrative office activity on Jan. 9.

USPS will provide limited package delivery service on that day to ensure the organization does not experience any negative impacts to its package delivery operations.
