Visit Mississippi has partnered with KLLM Transport Services to increase the state’s visibility as a tourism destination on a national scale. The trailers, which showcase Visit Mississippi advertisements and brand imagery, are traveling highways and interstates throughout the country, taking images of the Magnolia State out on the open road.
“As these trailers make their way along our highways and interstates, they will share with people all over the country the message that Mississippi is truly a great place to visit. It is our hope that the messaging will resonate with many and bring returning and new travelers to our state,” said Visit Mississippi Director Craig Ray. “Taking Mississippi out onto the road is a fun way to invite visitors to experience the blues music, incredible food, artistic culture and natural beauty that our great state has to offer.
The trailers display one of three images that highlight the following: biking along Overlook Point at the Barnett Reservoir in Ridgeland, the white sand beaches of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the Natchez Balloon Festival.
To engage potential visitors, Visit Mississippi also is rolling out a social media campaign to accompany the new marketing initiative. The campaign invites the public to safely take photos of the Mississippi-wrapped trailers and then share them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, tagging @visitms or #VisitMS. Participants from all over the country will be automatically eligible to win fun Visit Mississippi swag, including t-shirts, cups and more.
