Tunica County fatality

One person has died after a one-vehicle crash in Tunica County.

On Tuesday, June 3, at approximately 9:45 a.m., the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a one-vehicle accident on Prichard Road in Tunica.

Deputies made contact and found the vehicle had sustained significant damage. Sheriff deputies and first responders made contact with two people who were in the vehicle.

One occupant was treated at the scene by Pafford but died from her injuries. She has been identified as Mya Jackson, age 22, of Tunica.

The other occupant, a male juvenile, was treated at the scene by Pafford and was transported via Wings to an area hospital for treatment.

A motorist on Prichard Road witnessed the accident and notified law enforcement. The motorist stayed on the scene until law enforcement and first responders arrived to the scene.

This accident is currently under investigation by the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office.
