Thousands attend Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade in Jackson

Thousands of people turned out Saturday for Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade in downtown Jackson, Mississippi Today reported. The parade, held March 28, 2026, carried the theme “Stars, Stripes & Shamrocks — Jackson Celebrates America250,” Mississippi Today said.

Photos by Eric Shelton of Mississippi Today show crowds lining Capitol Street as participants threw beads and handed out flowers. Jackson Mayor John Horhn served as grand marshal and was shown tossing beads to spectators, the photos show.

Officials and local figures took part. Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones waved to the crowd, Jackson City Councilman Kenneth Stokes marched in the parade, and Mrs. Mississippi America Casey Craft appeared, according to the photo captions published by Mississippi Today.

Entertainment included marching bands and performers. The Epic Funk Brass Band, Forest Hill High School marching band and Jim Hill High School band were among those photographed, and groups such as the Krewe of Froth handed out throws, Mississippi Today reported.
