Reeves named Chairman of the Outer Continental Shelf Governors Coalition

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves has been selected as Chairman of the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Governors Coalition. Fellow Coalition governors elected Reeves to serve a two-year term. Reeves will replace Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards.

“I’m honored to serve as the OCS Governors Coalition’s next chairman,” said Reeves. “I look forward to working with my fellow governors to improve communication between federal and state officials, preserve our coastal resources, and bolster energy production in our respective states.”

Formed in 2011, the coalition of bipartisan coastal governors includes Gov. Mike Dunleavy (AK), Gov. Kay Ivey (AL), Gov. John Bel Edwards (LA), Gov. Tate Reeves (MS), and Gov. Greg Abbott (TX). This coalition advocates for safe offshore energy development through responsible resource management and supports proactive offshore energy production as part of a comprehensive national energy policy. The coalition provides a discussion and policy platform for offshore energy issues shared by coastal states and the federal government.
