Dixie National Parade set for Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. — Mississippi’s capital city is preparing for the 2026 Dixie National Parade, set for Saturday, Feb. 14, at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Jackson. The annual event, which traditionally launches the Dixie National Rodeo festivities, will feature rodeo queens, marching groups, floats, car and tractor clubs, riding groups, and the iconic Dixie National Wagon Train.

Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson encouraged families to attend, noting that this year’s theme, “For Love of Country,” aligns with nationwide America250 celebrations. “Rain or shine, the parade will roll on,” Gipson said, highlighting special appearances, celebrity judges, and family‑friendly activities tied to the Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo.

The parade will begin at Mississippi and Jefferson streets, travel down Mississippi Street, circle the State Capitol, and turn onto Amite Street before returning to the State Fairgrounds. Spectators are encouraged to gather on the Capitol grounds near President, High and West streets. Parking will be available on Capitol grounds and nearby lots.

Local celebrity and distinguished judges — including WLBT/Fox40 meteorologist Elise Uschmann, TikTok influencer Mary Garner, 2025 Miss Rodeo Mississippi Sierra Greene, Mississippi 4‑H President Morgan White, and Mississippi FFA President Byron Lopez — will select first- and second‑place winners in each category. Awards will be presented by Miss Mississippi Anna Leah Jolly at 12:30 p.m. at the Mississippi Farmers Market.
