GLUCKSTADT, Miss. — Citizens National Bank has broken ground on a new full-service community banking location in Gluckstadt, marking the bank’s latest expansion in Madison County.

Citizens National Bank has branches in Southaven and Olive Branch among its Mississippi locations.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday, Aug. 21, at 144 Calhoun Station Parkway, where the Gluckstadt Banking Centre is scheduled to open in 2026. The new branch will be CNB’s third location in Madison County and fourth in the region, strengthening the bank’s presence in one of Mississippi’s fastest-growing markets.

Gluckstadt, incorporated in 2021, has quickly become a hub for growth in central Mississippi. It is also home to the Gluckstadt Madison Business Alliance, founded in 2022, which has helped drive local business development. Bank leaders say the city’s rapid growth and community spirit make it an ideal location for Citizens National Bank’s expansion.

“We are excited to bring The Power of Local to one of Mississippi’s most vibrant communities,” said Hampton Thames, president and CEO of Citizens National Bank. “Gluckstadt represents the kind of forward-thinking, community-driven growth that aligns perfectly with our mission. We are proud to be part of its story and look forward to continuing to expand lasting relationships with the families and businesses who call it home.”

Citizens National Bank, celebrating 137 years as an independent, Mississippi-owned community bank, has expanded across the state with locations in Madison, Ridgeland, Flowood, Meridian, Quitman, Philadelphia, Olive Branch, Southaven, Hattiesburg, Laurel, Waynesboro, Columbus, Macon, Kosciusko, and Carthage.

The bank currently has assets exceeding $1.7 billion and manages $2.4 billion through its Wealth Management Division. As a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), CNB supports small businesses, affordable housing projects, and inclusive financial services aimed at promoting economic growth in underserved communities across Mississippi.
