Chaney announces staff changes

Commissioner of Insurance and State Fire Marshal Mike Chaney has announced several staff changes within the Mississippi Insurance Department (MID).

Chad Bridges will serve as Director of the Financial and Market Regulation Division. Bridges joined MID in 2004. He is a native of Brandon and received his Bachelor of Business Administration with emphasis in Finance from Belhaven College in May of 1992. Bridges has 14 years of prior insurance industry experience. Bridges has led the Financial and Market Division since the appointment of former director David Browning as MID Deputy Commissioner in January 2024.

Andy Case has been appointed Director of the Property and Casualty Rate Filing Division. Case had served as the MID Consumer Services Director since January 2010. Prior to joining MID, he worked for 23 years in various claim leadership capacities with a major insurance carrier. Born in Natchez, Case now makes his home in Madison. He is married and has two sons and three grandchildren. Case replaces John Wells, who retired from the Property and Casualty Division at the end of February 2024.

Ryan Blakeney will serve as the new Director of the Consumer Services Division after serving as the Deputy Director for more than eight years. He has served MID in other roles since 2011. During that time, Blakeney has developed extensive working knowledge of laws, regulations, and department policies related to life, health, annuities, and rate filings. Blakeney earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi followed by a Master of Health Sciences from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He lives in Brandon with his wife, Amy, and daughter, Avery.
