Beats and Brews: Coffee Central launches night of music and community in Southaven

  • Event: Beats and Brews
  • When/Where: November 1, 7–9 p.m. at Coffee Central in Southaven
  • Featuring: DJ Rome of Nashville, food truck, exclusive merch, and community fun

SOUTHAVEN — Coffee Central is turning up the volume on community with a new after-hours event called “Beats and Brews,” designed to give young adults a lively yet alcohol-free place to connect, dance, and enjoy good music over great coffee.

The debut night is set for Friday, Nov. 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Southaven coffee shop. Doors will be open (weather permitting), with a food truck on site and exclusive event merchandise for sale.

Headlining the evening is DJ Rome of Nashville, a Christian DJ well known across the Mid-South for his energetic sets and his involvement in the Support Christian Artists movement. His performances blend contemporary beats with positive, faith-based messages that aim to inspire and uplift.

Event organizer Mikayla Roberts said the idea behind Beats and Brews is to provide a “safe, fun environment for 20- and 30-somethings who want a night out without the bar scene.” She added that Coffee Central’s mission is about “coffee and community — meeting across cultures and around tables,” making this event a natural fit.

The shop already hosts gatherings and trivia nights but hopes this new concept will bring “a little more buzz and caffeine” to its calendar. If successful, Coffee Central may continue Beats and Brews as a recurring community event.
