Prep baseball

Arlington, Tenn. 7, Lewisburg 4

Note: Arlington won the game with three runs in the sixth inning. Easton Fesmire and Trae Cagle each had two hits for Lewisburg and Cagle had two RBIs. Cagle and Cooper Bennett each hit home runs for the Patriots. Stone McCaughey struck out seven, walked four and allowed four runs in five innings on the mound.

Lewisburg 8, Hernando 4

Note: Lewisburg put the game away with three runs in the top of the seventh inning for the victory. Hernando scored all four runs in the fifth inning. The Lady Patriot offense had Leah Walker score three times, Leah Walker and Kara Walker each had two hits, and Kara Walker and Bailee Davis each drove in two runs.  Kara Walker tripled, Leah Walker and Anna Etter doubled. Emma Abrams struckout eight and walked two in posting the pitching victory. Abrams allowed four runs, two earned, and allowed three hits. For Hernando, Jayla Sites drove in two runs with a homer and Olivia Higginbotham hit a double and drove a run in.  K Johnson fanned two and walked five in 5.1 innings pitched, allowed four runs, two earned, and gave up two hits. H Jackson started the game and took the loss.  The clinched the 1-7A region title and top seed from the region for Lewisburg.  

DeSoto Central 12, Oxford 6

Note: DeSoto Central scored runs in each of their last four times at the plate, including five runs in the sixth inning. Londen Armstrong paced a 13-hit Lady Jag attack with three hits and Armstrong scored three times. Katelyn Short and Kaylee Tucker each had two RBIs. Short and Armstrong each doubled. Colby Young was the winning pitcher with 11 strikeouts, including her 200th career strikeout. Young walked four and allowed one earned run in 6.2 innings in the circle.  

Northpoint Christian 19, St. George’s 0 (5 innings)

Note: Northpoint held St. George’s to one hit and were aided by eight Lady Gryphon errors. Macie Dever-Boaz led the Lady Trojan offense with three runs scored on four hits and drove in five RBIs. Hannah Bostain also scored three times for Northpoint. Dever-Boaz doubled and tripled, and Katy Bobo homered. Bostain struck out six and walked two, and allowed one hit in pitching the complete-game victory.
