Spurs rally late to defeat Hustle 102-97
AUSTIN, Texas — The Memphis Hustle surrendered a late lead Sunday as the Austin Spurs surged in the fourth quarter to claim a 102-97 win at the H‑E‑B Center at Cedar Park.
Memphis (4-18) led by as many as 11 in the second quarter and carried a 49-40 advantage into halftime, but Austin (14-8) outscored the Hustle 62-48 in the second half, including a decisive 29-point fourth quarter.
DeJon Jarreau paced the Hustle with 22 points, eight rebounds and six assists, while Paul Watson added 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Tyler Burton and Eric Dixon each contributed 14 and 13 points, respectively. Memphis shot 43.2% from the field but struggled from long range, finishing 6-of-26 from three.
Austin’s Jayden Nunn led all scorers with 22 points, and Donovan Williams added 19. Harrison Ingram posted a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. The Spurs capitalized on Memphis’ 19 turnovers, converting them into 22 points.
The Hustle were outscored 33-27 in the third quarter and 29-21 in the fourth as Austin seized control behind timely shooting and a 12-of-26 performance in the final period. Memphis’ last lead came early in the fourth before the Spurs closed the game on a 12-5 run.
