Spurs hold off Hustle in 121–118 shootout
Austin edged Memphis 121–118 on Sunday night behind a 30‑point performance from Jayden Nunn, surviving a late Hustle push in a fast‑paced G League matchup at H‑E‑B Center at Cedar Park, Texas.
The Spurs (16‑9) used a dominant middle stretch — outscoring Memphis 36–20 in the third quarter — to flip the game after trailing by as many as 16. Nunn shot 11 of 14 from the field and added 13 rebounds and seven assists, anchoring an offense that finished 52.5 percent overall and 41.7 percent from three.
Tre King added 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting, including five threes, while Kyle Mangas scored 20. Austin also generated 21 points off Memphis turnovers.
The Hustle (5‑21) opened with a 36‑27 first‑quarter lead and built a 16‑point advantage behind Tyler Burton’s 24 points and DeJon Jarreau’s 22. Memphis shot 48.8 percent from the floor and hit 14 threes, but the Spurs’ surge in the third quarter proved decisive. Memphis outscored Austin 31–22 in the fourth but couldn’t close the gap.
Lawson Lovering posted a double‑double with 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Hustle, who also received 17 from Eric Dixon and 12 from Paul Watson.
