Northpoint Christian leading scorers in the boys’ basketball victory over Macon Road Baptist came from Christian Gilliland (25), Gray Patterson (14) and Justin Hall (12).

Northpoint Christian leading scorers in the girls’ basketball win over Houston (Germantown, Tenn.) were Bethany Wright (22), Brylee Faith Cherry (12), Karrington Edwards and Hadley Carson (10 each).

DeSoto Central goals scored in the boys’ soccer win against Hernando came from Eli Kitchens (2), Ian Thomas (1), and Jayden Armstrong (1). 

Center Hill goals scored in the boys’ soccer victory over New Albany came from Aiden O’Connell, Osvaldo Gonzalez, and Dominic Rivino.

Lewisburg goals scored in the boys’ soccer victory against Southaven came from Miller Lashlee and Garrett Bradham. 

Hernando goal scored in the girls’ soccer loss to DeSoto Central came from Macey Riggs. 

Center Hill goals scored in the girls’ soccer victory over New Albany came from Linley Robinson, Karman Smith, and Grace Sanders (2).

CARTWRIGHT HONORED FOR TITLE

Hernando High School cross country runner Jessica Cartwright was recognized at Thursday’s DeSoto County School District Board of Education meeting on her MHSAA 6A state championship.

SOCCER ALL-STARS NAMED

Players named to the Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star soccer teams from DeSoto County included Gage Lashlee and Hogan Payne of Lewisburg, along with Center Hill’s Braden Taylor on the boys’ North team. Players representing the North in the girls’ contest included Brenna Becker and Madysen Helm of Lewisburg, and Micah Benson of DeSoto Central. The North boys’ coaches are Gene Anderson and Garrett Carter of Lafayette. The girls’ coaches are Scotti MIles and Amy Hoffman of Lewisburg.
