Southaven falls to Tupelo; county volleyball rivals meet Tuesday

Southaven lost to visiting Tupelo in straight sets Monday, leaving the Chargers a quick turnaround before a home volleyball match against county rival Horn Lake on Tuesday.
The Golden Wave won 25–13, 25–15, 25–19 in the Sept. 14 girls varsity match. Southaven increased its point total in each set but could not extend the contest beyond three, according to the MaxPreps final box score.
The result left Southaven 4–8 overall and 1–7 in district play on its posted schedule. Tupelo improved to 21–8. No game-specific individual statistics were available in the box score.
Northpoint result pending
Northpoint Christian’s MaxPreps schedule listed a Monday varsity volleyball match at Jackson Christian, but the result is not yet reported. The match was scheduled for 6 p.m.; no final score was available to establish the outcome.
Two county matchups Tuesday
Horn Lake visits Southaven at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, according to the Chargers’ official varsity schedule. Southaven won the teams’ Aug. 25 meeting in five sets, 3–2.
Hernando travels to DeSoto Central for another county matchup at 6 p.m. Lewisburg visits Tupelo at 5:30 p.m., while Center Hill plays at Grenada, Lake Cormorant travels to Saltillo and Olive Branch hosts South Panola, all at 6 p.m., on their posted varsity schedules.
Northpoint also faces Collierville at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The school’s official volleyball calendar lists that match at Northpoint, while MaxPreps lists it away. Fans should confirm the venue with the school before traveling. All times are Mississippi local time.

The result of Olive Branch’s Sept. 12 volleyball match against Pine Grove remains not yet reported. Earlier unresolved reports include Southaven’s Sept. 11 football game at South Panola and Northpoint’s Sept. 10 boys golf event.
