Softball all-stars announced

The 2024 Cornerstone Rehabilitation Junior All-Star Softball Games will be played at Jones College in Ellisville on Thursday, May 30 and Friday, May 31. The Mississippi Association of Coaches puts on the annual event to showcase some of the top underclassmen players in Mississippi, as selected by the coaches.

The following top junior players were named to the North 5A/6A/7A All-Star team. The group includes Londen Armstrong of DeSoto Central, Olivia Higginbotham and Kate Johnson of Hernando. Grenada coaches Leslie Lancaster and Collin Ray will be coaches for the North squad.

In addition, a Sophomore Rising Stars roster for North and South was also released. Hernando coach Nicki Whitten was named as one of the coaches for the North team.

Here is the North Sophomore Rising Stars roster, which includes Callie Desmond and Katelyn Kirkpatrick of Hernando, along with Lewisburg players Leona Klaire Stokes and Kara Walker. Molly Brown of Wheeler joins Whitten as North coaches.

1:00 p.m. – 5A/6A/7A Junior All-Star Softball Game 1
3:00 p.m. – 1A/2A/3A/4A Junior All-Star Softball Game 1

Friday, May 31:
11 a.m.- 5A/6A/7A Junior All-Star Game 2
1 p.m.- Player Introductions & Presentation of State Championship plaques
1:30 p.m. – 1A/2A/3A/4A Junior All-Star Game 2
3:30 p.m. – Rising Stars Game 2
