Myah Taylor new Ole Miss Women’s Basketball Coordinator of Operations

Following stints playing professionally in Hungary and Mexico, Olive Branch native Myah Taylor returns to Oxford to serve as the coordinator of operations for Ole Miss women’s basketball, head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin announced on Tuesday, May 21.
“I am excited to have Myah back in Oxford with her Ole Miss Family! Myah is a leader, winner, a hard worker and has always had aspirations to explore the operations side of athletics,” said McPhee-McCuin. “When the opportunity presented itself there was no doubt in my mind that Myah was the best option! She understands the Ole Miss way, she will mentor our student-athletes and she will continue to impact the Oxford community in a positive way.”
Taylor recently spent a season overseas with Vasas Akademia, playing in 24 games in Hungary’s top professional women’s league. In 24 games, Taylor averaged 8.4 points, 3.3 assists and 2.2 steals per game. Prior to Hungary, Taylor spent eight games with Freseras Irapuato in Mexico.
Coming to Ole Miss as a graduate transfer for the 2022-23 season, Taylor was an instrumental part in leading the Rebels to its first Sweet 16 appearance since 2007. The Olive Branch native paced the Rebels in assists with a total of 113 for an average of 3.6 per game. Taylor provided a key defensive presence for Ole Miss, with an average of 1.7 steals per game and came up clutch when needed. With 15 seconds remaining in the Second Round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament against No. 1 Stanford, it was Taylor’s steal that secured Ole Miss’ upset victory against the Cardinal.
Prior to her year in Oxford, Taylor spent four seasons at Mississippi State where she concluded her career as a Bulldog ranking sixth in total assists with a total of 445, third in assists per game at 3.9 and eighth in total steals with 195.
Coming out of Olive Branch High School, Taylor was touted as a five-star prospect and the best overall in Mississippi and was named the Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year three times.
