Memphis adds former Hernando Lady Tiger Callahan to softball roster

Head Memphis Tiger softball coach Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro has added Ally Callahan to her 2024 roster.

Callahan, a 5’8″ catcher out of Hernando, comes to Memphis after a successful year at the University of Central Arkansas where she recorded a .500 batting average, a .500 slugging percentage and an on base percentage of .500.

“I am excited to be adding Ally to our team. She is a local athlete who is looking forward to playing close to home.” VanBrakle Prothro shared. “She is athletic and versatile behind the plate and has a strong arm. I am looking forward to seeing what she does at Memphis.”

Callahan contributed to the Bears 45-12 season, winning the ASUN Conference championship sporting a 22-2 record against ASUN opponents and appeared in the 2023 NCAA Regionals in Tuscaloosa.

“I am so excited to become a Memphis Tiger!” Callahan remarked. “I’m looking forward to the upcoming season and cannot wait to compete with this amazing group of girls.”
