Lady Rangers capture spot in NJCAA Region 23 Tournament

For the second consecutive season, the Northwest women’s tennis program has earned a spot in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament.

Ranked 21st in the ITA JUCO Women’s Tennis National Rankings, the Lady Rangers finished the regular season with a 7-6 overall record and a 4-5 mark in the MACCC. In the conference standings, Northwest placed sixth to close the season in coach Andy Wolf’s first season.

Now, the Lady Rangers will start their postseason journey in next week’s tournament against third-seeded Meridian. The Lady Eagles took a 9-0 victory against Northwest earlier this season and finished with a 12-10 overall record, along with a 7-2 record within the MACCC.

Hosted by Jones College, the tournament will take place from April 11-13 at the Howard Sports Complex. The winner of the match between Northwest and Meridian will advance to face the winner of No. 2 Mississippi Gulf Coast and No. 7 Hinds.
