After first earning MACCC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday, Northwest sophomore Jadyn Duran has also been selected as the NJCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, the organization announced on Wednesday morning.

Duran is the second Northwest player in as many weeks that has received NJCAA weekly honors, following last week’s selection of Anna Kathryn Harrell as NJCAA Goalkeeper of the Week.

In two matches against National Park College and Meridian, Duran totaled six goals and three assists, rapidly ascending to the Lady Rangers’ third-leading scorer. Against National Park, the Las Cruces, N.M. native recorded four goals and an assist, while adding two more goals and an assist in the conference-opening win at Meridian.

For her career, Duran currently has 14 goals and 12 assists, pushing her way into the program’s top 10 category for career assists. Her nine assists tallied last season already ranks fifth in a single season, tied with Ally Bailey (2021) and Molly Rose (2021).

Still sitting at No. 3 in the national rankings, Northwest (9-0, 2-0 MACCC) will host Southwest Mississippi on Friday, September 22 at 1 p.m.
