Hustle drop series opener at Oklahoma City

The Memphis Hustle (1-2) dropped the first of a two-game set against the Oklahoma City Blue (2-1) 118-104 on Monday night in Oklahoma City. 

On assignment from the Memphis Grizzlies, Jake LaRavia led the Hustle, notching a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double. Two-way transfer GG Jackson II recorded 21 points and six rebounds. Adonis Arms tallied 14 points, six rebounds and three blocks. David Johnson contributed 10 points off the bench.

Jaden Shackelford paced the Blue scoring 35 points on 11-of-14 shooting from 3-point range. On assignment from the Thunder, Ousmane Dieng contributed 17 points and 12 rebounds. Keyontae Johnson tallied 14 points. KJ Williams finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Jahmi’us Ramsey added 15 points off the bench.

Oklahoma City started the game scoring the first seven points as part of a 21-11 run and pushed its lead to 18 in the third quarter. The Hustle cut the deficit to six midway through the fourth quarter, but the Blue closed the game on a 16-8 run to secure the victory.

The Blue made 20 of their 47 attempts from beyond the arc and tallied 44 points in the paint.

The Hustle will wrap up the series against the Blue in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m.
