Hernando native Little earns MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week honors

Oct 15, 2024 – Northwest Mississippi Community College freshman goalkeeper Jacob Little has earned MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week accolades, the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) announced on Tuesday morning.

Little played a full 180 minutes in two matches last week, a 2-2 draw against Itawamba and a 2-0 victory against Holmes. The Hernando native picked up 20 saves against two goals surrendered, bringing his season saves total to 123, a new single-season record.

Little has been the Rangers’ starting goalkeeper throughout the season and last Friday’s win at Holmes marked the first conference victory of the season for Northwest.

Little is the first Northwest goalkeeper to garner MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week honors since Oct. 10, 2023, when Will Thompson collected 14 saves in a pair of wins against East Mississippi and Holmes.
