For the fifth time this season and the fourth time this month, Northwest freshman Anna Kathryn Harrell has earned MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week honors, the conference announced on Tuesday morning.

Harrell posted a clean sheet last week in wins against 13th-ranked Pearl River and Copiah-Lincoln. The Tupelo native recorded four saves and kept an aggressive Pearl River offense off the scoreboard in a tight 1-0 win to close the regular season. She also played 74 minutes of the Lady Rangers’ 7-0 Region 23 quarterfinal victory against Copiah-Lincoln last weekend, earning four additional saves.

For the season, Harrell has 55 saves and just four goals allowed. She has already set new single-season and career program records for shutouts (15) and total wins (16-1-0).

Now 18-1 on the season, Northwest will brace for a rematch against Holmes (17-1) in this weekend’s Region 23 Tournament. The semifinal matchup will feature two of the best teams in the NJCAA, with the winner advancing to Sunday’s Region 23 championship match against the winner of Jones College and Pearl River.
