Bynum named 67th AutoZone Liberty Bowl President

June 12, 2025 – Shone Bynum, a longtime board member and volunteer with the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, has been elected President of the 2025 AutoZone Liberty Bowl Festival Association. The 67th AutoZone Liberty Bowl will be played on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. Central Time.

“The AutoZone Liberty Bowl is one of the treasured and most impactful events in Memphis. It shines a positive spotlight on our community each and every year,” said Bynum. “Serving the AutoZone Liberty Bowl is a great honor and I look forward to continuing the Bowl’s success and its mission of showcasing Memphis and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through the various year-round events conducted by the Association.”

Bynum is a former University of Memphis football player. He played for the Tigers under former head coach Charlie Bailey. Today, Bynum is President and CEO of SKB Facilities & Maintenance, a premier janitorial and facility services company specializing in airports, municipalities, school districts and commercial properties. Shone and his wife also own SKB Properties.

“Shone has been a dedicated supporter, volunteer and board member of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl and all our activities for many years,” said Steve Ehrhart, Executive Director of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. “We’re excited about the experience, enthusiasm and dedication he brings to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl Festival Association.” 

In addition to Shone Bynum, the AutoZone Liberty Bowl Festival Association also elected the following individuals as officers for 2025:
