Rebecca Dinstuhl, a longtime board member and volunteer with the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, has been elected President of the 2024 AutoZone Liberty Bowl Festival Association.

“The AutoZone Liberty Bowl is one of the treasured Memphis events that shines a positive spotlight on our community each and every year,” said Dinstuhl. “Serving the AutoZone Liberty Bowl is one of my passions and I look forward to continuing the Bowl’s success and its mission of showcasing Memphis through the various year-round events conducted
by the Association.”

Dinstuhl was born into a family of candy makers in Alabama, where she grew up and learned the many aspects of her grandparent’s candy business, Saxon’s Candies. In 1970, she moved to Memphis and became a part of the Dinstuhl’s Fine Candy operation.

In 1987, she departed from chocolates and began a 20-year career with The Peabody Hotel in Memphis and The Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama.

Due to her past experience in the confectionery industry, she was eventually tapped to return to Memphis and Dinstuhl’s Fine Candy Company nearly two decades ago. In 2021, she bought controlling interest in the legendary Memphis candy company and is today proud Owner and President of Dinstuhl’s.

“Rebecca has been a dedicated supporter and advocate of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl and all our activities for many years. We’re excited about the experience, enthusiasm and dedication she brings to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl Festival Association,” said Steve Ehrhart, Executive Director of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.

In addition to Rebecca Dinstuhl, the AutoZone Liberty Bowl Festival Association also elected the following individuals as officers for 2024:

  • Hugh Mallory
  • Shone Bynum
  • Wayne Dowdle
  • Malvin Gipson
