Northwest duo Ethan Barnes and Gabriel Burton have been chosen to compete in the MACCC All-Star match, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2 at 2:30 p.m.

Both players will be part of a stacked North roster, which will compete against a group of players from the former South Division. The match will be held on the Ridgeland campus of Holmes Community College.

A two-year veteran, Barnes played and started in all 14 matches for the Rangers this season. The Hernando native finished third on the team with three goals, a total that included a pair of goals in the Rangers’ home victory against Holmes on Oct. 6.

Barnes also tallied one assist, which came in an early-season matchup against National Park College.

Burton, a transfer from Pensacola Christian College, led the Rangers with five assists on the season. The Pensacola, Fla. native also scored one goal, which came in the second half of the MACCC opener at Meridian on Sept. 15.

Northwest finished with four wins on the season, doubling last season’s win total. The Rangers won all four matches in conference play, narrowly missing out on a Region 23 playoff spot.

NOTE: Former Lewisburg player Gage Lashlee of Itawamba was also selected to the All-Star Match:
