Applications open for Arkabutla Lake’s annual Physically Challenged Deer Hunt

Aug. 13, 2025 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District has announced that applications are now being accepted for the 36th annual Physically Challenged Deer Hunt at Arkabutla Lake. This special event offers individuals with permanent physical limitations a unique opportunity to participate in a guided deer hunt.

The hunt will be split into two three-day sessions: December 5-7 and December 12-14. The hunt is specifically designed for people who are quadriplegic, paraplegic, require the use of leg braces or crutches, or have other permanent physical disabilities.

How to Apply

Applications are available at the Arkabutla Lake Field Office or can be downloaded online from the USACE Vicksburg District website. To be considered, applications must be received by Friday, Nov. 7 at 3:00 p.m.
