Woman in custody after stabbing at Southpark Gardens

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — A domestic dispute at a Southaven apartment complex turned violent Wednesday, leaving one man injured and a female suspect in police custody.

Police say a male victim arrived at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto to receive treatment for a stab wound. Officers later placed a woman in custody in connection with the incident.

Hospital officials confirmed the victim’s injuries are non-critical.

While her name has not been made public, police confirmed that the stabbing stemmed from a domestic disturbance.

Southaven authorities emphasized that the community is not at risk. “This was an isolated incident and all involved have been accounted for,” the department noted in a statement.

The case remains under investigation as detectives work to determine the specific events leading up to the attack.
