UPDATE: Three dead in Hernando shooting incident

Aug 5, 2024- A third person has now died from a Sunday morning shooting incident in Hernando. 

On Monday afternoon, Hernando police provided more information about what happened.

Police say officers were called shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday morning after a 911 call from Mason Drive came in. The caller said multiple gunshots were heard. When police arrived, they found three individuals with gunshot wounds.

One individual, identified as Kelley Denise Cincurak, age 51, was found shot on the back patio. Medical personnel offered life-saving aid before transporting her via helicopter to Regional One Health in extremely critical condition. Cincurak has since died from her injuries.

Another victim, 78-year-old Mary Janice Ray was also shot while watching television in the breakfast room of the residence. A third victim, 71-year-old Rickie Thomas Ray was found lying in the master bedroom, along with two firearms, with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Both Mary and Rickie Ray were pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, items of evidence are in the process of being turned over to the Mississippi Crime Lab for further analysis and law enforcement personnel are following up on all information involving the details of this incident.
