A new extended-stay Horn Lake hotel is in the works. G6 Hospitality, the Texas-based parent company of Motel 6 and Studio 6, announced on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, that it is teaming up with developer Creative Constructions LLC to build a new-construction Studio 6 Plus property in Horn Lake. The company says the project will bring its newest extended-stay design to the greater Memphis market.
The announcement did not include a street address, room count, construction start date, or expected opening date. DeSoto County News will follow the project as it moves through the city’s planning and permitting process.
What the Horn Lake Hotel Will Offer
Studio 6 Plus is G6 Hospitality’s upgraded extended-stay brand, aimed at guests who need a place to stay for weeks or months rather than a night or two. Think traveling nurses, construction crews, workers relocating for a new job, and families between homes. According to the company, Studio 6 Plus properties feature:
Guest rooms with full kitchens
Extra storage and practical living space for longer stays
Digital check-in technology
A small-staff “ambassador” service model built to keep operating costs low
The brand’s tagline is “Live, Where You Stay.”
Developer Already Knows the Market
Creative Constructions LLC is led by Ron Patel. In the company’s announcement, Patel said his team has “already seen firsthand the strength and continued success of the extended-stay segment in the Horn Lake market.”
G6 Hospitality executives pointed to the Horn Lake area as a growth opportunity. “We see a clear opportunity for Studio 6 Plus in markets like Horn Lake,” said Nikhil Heda, the company’s country head. Krishna Paliwal, G6’s president of midscale and extended stay, said he is excited to keep growing with Patel “as we expand our footprint across the Greater Memphis area.”
Why Horn Lake Is Drawing Hotel Investment
Horn Lake sits along Interstate 55 and Interstate 69 just south of the Tennessee state line, a few minutes from Memphis International Airport and the large distribution and logistics centers that line the DeSoto County and Memphis corridor. That mix of freight, industrial, and medical jobs keeps demand steady for longer-term lodging.
More road money is also headed to the area. U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker announced this week that DeSoto County will receive a $44 million federal grant to widen the I-55/I-69 corridor, which runs right past Horn Lake.
G6 Hospitality runs about 1,500 economy lodging locations under the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands in the United States and Canada. It is part of the PRISM hospitality portfolio.
