Supervisors, aldermen meet this week in DeSoto County
Here are links to the agendas of DeSoto County governmental bodies; the Board of Supervisors and the city Boards of Aldermen.
The DeSoto County Board of Supervisors will meet Monday morning, March 6, at 9 a.m. in the third floor board room at the County Administration Building in Hernando.
City aldermen will meet Tuesday, March 7, at 6 p.m. in Southaven, Horn Lake and Hernando. The Olive Branch Board of Aldermen will convene at 6:30 p.m.
DeSoto County Board of Supervisors
Supervisors will hear from Veteran Services Officer Bill Walkner, will consider business incentive investments, and will hear appointment recommendations for Horn Lake Creek Interceptor Sewer District representatives for Districts 1 and 2. Board members are also scheduled for their annual County Jail tour.
Agenda items include a sponsorship agreement with A&B Distributing, and approval of a police department agreement with the District Attorney’s office for forfeitures
Olive Branch Board of Aldermen
Mayor Ken Adams will present his monthly Mayor’s Awards, and authorization for project activation for the George Harrison Municipal Park improvements will be considered.
Board members will consider a donation of nearly $12,000 from AERC Architecture for the Animal Shelter building, and approval of a $150,000 contract with 5th Pocket Skateparks for construction of Phase 2 of the Renasant Park Skatepark.
One new business item has consideration of an ordinance amending the zoning ordinance by defining and regulating Medical Cannabis Dispensaries.
