Student receives SRO recognition from Hernando police

The Hernando Police Department recently presented student Tharon Miller Jr. of Hernando High School its first SRO (School Resource Officer) Recognition Award. 

The award, according to the City of Hernando Police Department’s Facebook post, “was created to recognize students who assist school resource officers in creating a safer school environment.” 

On Jan.10, Miller “played a pivotal role in separating the two individuals involved in the incident until school administrators and school resource officers intervened.”
