Spiritual Care Network of DeSoto County to Host Annual Christmas Celebration and Networking Lunch

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – The Spiritual Care Network (SCN) of DeSoto County is inviting faith leaders, mental health professionals, and community members to bridge the gap between ministry and mental wellness at its upcoming Christmas Celebration.

The free networking lunch is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brown Missionary Baptist Church, located at 7200 Swinnea Road in Southaven.

Designed to foster collaboration, the event will feature a lineup of local speakers, live worship, and opportunities for professionals to build trusted relationships across the mental health and faith sectors.

Event Highlights
The Christmas Celebration will feature Keynote Speaker Pastor Floyd Lee III, the PIVOT Young Adult Pastor at Brown Missionary Baptist Church.

Attendees will also hear from a “Faith Highlight” speaker, Pastor Renardo Ward of Greater Harvest Church, and a “Non-Profit Highlight” focusing on the TRU-MAN Center of Hope.

Pastor James Powell of Colonial Hills Church in Olive Branch will lead the gathering in live worship. In addition to the program, guests will enjoy a complimentary lunch, networking opportunities, and door prizes.

A Mission of Collaboration
The Spiritual Care Network of DeSoto County operates with a mission to bridge the gap between mental health providers, addiction recovery professionals, and the faith community.

“Our goal is to encourage, educate, enlighten, and empower faith leaders and mental health professionals to play a part in mental wellness and addiction recovery in their communities,” the organization states.

By facilitating these events, the SCN strives to build trusted relationships that encourage the incorporation of spirituality into all levels of treatment, remaining collaborative and inclusive regarding denominations and therapeutic programs.
