Southaven Springfest this week at Snowden Grove Park

Southaven’s annual festival to celebrate its incorporation as a city is underway this week at Snowden Grove Park. The annual Southaven Springfest takes place through Saturday, April 27. The event commemorates Southaven’s beginnings as a city on April 15, 1980.
Festival activities include a BBQ cooking contest, midway rides, and much more starts Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and again on Thursday, admissionto Springfest is free. Thirty dollar Carnival Wristbands will be sold to all for unlimited rides inside the carnival area for the three days.
On Friday, gates will open at 12 noon and on Saturday, gates will open at 9 a.m. Admission will be free on those days until 12 noon. After 12 noon, gate admission will be free for ages 10 and under, and $10 for everyone else.
On Friday and Saturday, carnival tickets will be $1 each or a strip of 24 tickets will cost $20. Bring your cash for admission, because cash only sales will be allowed at the admission gates, no credit card purchases.
Another feature of Springfest is the Mississippi State Championship barbecue cooking contest, an event that is dual-sanctioned with the Memphis Barbecue Network and the Kansas City Barbecue Society.
The BankPlus Amphitheater concert season will also start this week during Springfest with Hozier’s Unreal Unearth Tour on Thursday, April 25.
