A post from the City of Southaven municipal government highlighted ceremonies honoring fallen first responders this weekend, the city said.
The post said the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department honored those who lost their lives in the line of duty at the DeSoto County Fallen Heroes Memorial Ceremony.
It said that in Emmitsburg, Maryland, at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial weekend ceremony, people from around the country recognized 204 firefighters who died in the line of duty.
The City of Southaven’s post urged residents to support those who put their lives on the line and to remember those who paid the ultimate price, the post said.
