Southaven park includes inclusive playground, resurfaced adaptive baseball field
The City of Southaven said a state-of-the-art, all-inclusive playground opened in spring 2019 at Snowden Grove Park to provide a safe, engaging place for children with special needs.
The city said the modern facility sits next to the Field of Dreams in Snowden Grove Park. The municipal government described the playground as designed to be accessible and inclusive for children with a range of needs.
The City of Southaven said the park’s adaptive baseball field was recently resurfaced with artificial turf. The city said the field is intended to give ballplayers with special needs and their fans an opportunity to participate in baseball in a safer environment.
The city posted photos and information about the project on its municipal government page and referenced an original mayor’s blog post about the project (https://southaven.org/Blog.aspx?IID=89), the City of Southaven said.
