Southaven man dies in Friday morning crash

A Southaven man died early Friday morning in a two-vehicle accident in western DeSoto County.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol reports troopers responded to a crash on U.S. Highway 61, just north of Goodman Road, just before 5 a.m.

MHP reported a 2105 GMC driven by Michael W. Garner, age 33 of Southaven, collided with the rear of a 2002 International driven by David Royal, age 59 of Greenville.

Both vehicles were northbound on the highway at the time of the crash.

Garner died of injuries sustained in the collision. MHP continues to investigate the accident.
