Southaven board approves five planning items and awards police generator project bid
The City of Southaven said the Mayor and Board of Aldermen approved all five items on the planning agenda during the meeting highlighted in the city’s post. The listed matters included a tax incentive request by Rural King for a 95,000-square-foot farm and sporting equipment, supplies and clothing store at 550 Stateline Road. Other approved planning items included a conditional use permit extension for an auto repair facility at 905-F Town & Country, a permit for a barber shop at 3038 Goodman Road East at Getwell Road, and a permit for an auto repair facility at 8600-8668 Whitworth Street.
The board also awarded the bid for the SPD Generator Modification Project to OSB Service. The Utilities Department is seeking bids for a skid steer, while the city is filing assessments for liens on properties so they can roll over to tax assessments for collection. A scrivener’s error will be corrected for the section, township and range on the Mace 1-Lot Subdivision.
The city reported that the Stateline Road widening project will begin soon, roadwork is underway at the Swinnea/Starlanding roundabout, and street resurfacing continues. The post also described the Greenbrook Nine golf course as having a surface and driving range where players can play 18 holes for $26.
