Senate pages aid legislative process
Feb. 17, 2025-DeSoto County high school students are helping the legislative process in the Mississippi State Senate during this session as Senate pages.
The Senate Press Office provided photos and background of four of the pages with Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann and shown on the floor of the Senate with state Sen. Dr. David Parker (R-Olive Branch), who sponsored their visit. Pages generally run errands for officials and Senate staff.
Henry Lynch of Hernando is pictured with Lt. Gov. Hosemann, who sponsored his visit, and state Sen. Parker. Henry is the son of Josh and Natalie Lynch and attends Hernando High School. When asked about the week, Henry said, “I really enjoyed meeting new people and making new connections. This was a great experience. “
Reed Rivers of Hernando is pictured with Lt. Gov. Hosemann and Sen. Parker, who sponsored his visit. Reed is the son of Brett and Corie Rivers and attends Northpoint Christian School. When asked about the week, Reed said, “I had the privilege of paging for Sen. Parker, a wonderful senator and person who truly wishes the best for me and my peers. Paging for the Senate is an excellent experience for anyone interested in pursuing a career in politics or simply wanting to observe how the Senate operates.”
Madilyn Hall of Olive Branch is pictured with Lt. Gov. Hosemann and state Sen. Parker, who sponsored her visit. Madilyn is the daughter of Matt and
Martha Hall and attends Lewisburg High School. When asked about the week, Madilyn said, “During my time as a page at the Mississippi Senate, I had the
privilege of witnessing the inner workings of our state government, making meaningful connections with Senate members, and gaining a deeper
appreciation for our hardworking elected officials. A special thank you to Sen. Parker for giving me the opportunity to experience such a wonderful
week.”
Manning Cox of Hernando is pictured with Lt. Gov. Hosemann and state Sen. Parker, who sponsored his visit. Manning is the son of Larry and Wendy Cox
and attends Northpoint Christian School. When asked about the week, Manning said, “Paging for Sen. Parker this week was a great experience. I had
the opportunity to see firsthand how our legislative process works and to be a part of making it happen.”
Anna Rhodes Bridgforth is pictured with Lt. Gov. Hosemann, who sponsored her visit, and state Sen. Parker. Anna is the daughter of Rob and Alison Bridgforth and attends Lewisburg High School. When asked about the week, Anna said, “This week, while paging for Sen. Parker, I had the incredible opportunity to see the inner workings of our state’s Senate. I was able to make meaningful connections, gain a deeper understanding of our government, and observe the process our senators go through to create laws.”
