Rollin Oaks Subdivision Boil Water Notice Issued

Horn Lake water users in the Rollin Oaks Subdivision have been given a Boil Water Notice from the City of Horn Lake and the Mississippi State Department of Health.

The City of Horn Lake said on its website the alert is also for customers in the nearby Rolling Green subdivision.

This affects 40 customers on Edwin Drive, Angel Drive, Clara Drive, Edwin Cove, Rollin Oak Road, Rolling Green Road, DeSoto Road & Horn Lake Road who are served by the City of Horn Lake water supply.

Water system officials notified the Mississippi State Department of Health of a pressure loss due to one or more line breaks.

City officials reported the issue is with a contractor replacing a fire hydrant in the area causing a loss of water pressure.

When a distribution system loses pressure, contaminants can siphon back into the water. Public health officials consider any system that loses pressure contaminated until tests prove otherwise. Health officials strongly recommend that all water be boiled vigorously for one minute before it is consumed.

The water system will be notified when tests show that the water is safe to drink.

More information on the Boil Water Notice may be found on the Mississippi State Department of Health website.
