Olive Branch mayor honors women in law enforcement on International Women’s Day
Mayor Ken Adams of Olive Branch praised women who serve the community on International Women’s Day, quoting W.E.B. Du Bois. In a city statement, Adams wrote, “There is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise.”
Adams said women in law enforcement stand on the front lines as protectors, leaders, mentors and role models. He said they bring courage to difficult moments, compassion to those in need and unwavering determination to the mission of keeping the community safe.
Adams thanked the women of the department and women everywhere for the sacrifices they make and the barriers they break. “To the women of our department and to women everywhere: thank you for the sacrifices you make, the barriers you break, and the example you set for the next generation,” he wrote.
The statement concluded, “Today we celebrate you. And every day, we stand proud beside you.” The message was issued by the City of Olive Branch government.
