The Olive Branch Chamber of Commerce in Olive Branch, Mississippi, is hosting a Shop Small Weekly Challenge from May 3-9, the chamber said in a social media post.
The chamber urged residents to explore local businesses, grab takeout, leave quick reviews and tag favorite businesses in the post’s comments, the post said. The post included hashtags such as #ShopLocal, #supportlocal and #OliveBranchMississippi.
Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams endorsed the effort, saying, “Big chains are easy … but local is where the heart is,” according to the chamber’s post.
The chamber asked residents to participate by tagging favorite local businesses and helping spread the word to support small businesses that make the community unique, the post said.
