Military ordnance found in Southaven home
Southaven police officers were called to a residence Friday afternoon, June 30, when what appeared to be a small amount of a military ordnance was found. Construction workers were working inside the home at 644 Clarington Drive when the discovery was made in the home’s attic.
The call came in at about 1:25 p.m. and officers secured the area while awaiting assistance from the Shelby County bomb squad.
Police said there appears to not be any danger to the public. However, officers blocked off the street near the residence. Homeowners near the residence were asked to temporarily evacuate the area.
