Mid-South Fair opens in Southaven

The Mid-South Fair is underway at the Landers Center, beginning an 11-day run that continues now through Sept. 29. 

Fairgoers will be able enjoy more than 50 rides and a wide array of ground acts centered in the parking lot area of the facility. Food and beverage vendors will be out serving all of the traditional fair food, such as funnel cakes, candied apples, corn dogs, and more.  

Here are the hours of operation for this year’s Mid-South Fair.  

  • Thursday, September 19 / 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.*
  • Friday, September 20 / 3 p.m. -10 p.m.*
  • Saturday, September 21 / 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.*
  • Sunday, September 22 / 12 p.m. – 10 p.m.*
  • Monday, September 23 / 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.*
  • Tuesday, September 24 / 3 p.m. – 10 p.m.*
  • Wednesday, September 25 / 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.* 
  • Thursday, September 26 / 3 p.m. – 10 p.m.*
  • Friday, September 27 / 3 p.m. – 10 p.m.*
  • Saturday, September 28 / 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.* 
  • Sunday, September 29 / 12 p.m. – 10 p.m.*

The fair has been active since 1856, when it started in Memphis to promote agricultural advancements and encourage, while providing a venue for entertainment.  

The fair moved to Southaven in 2009 when parking concerns and fairgrounds maintenance became an issue at the Memphis location.
