Memphis man dies in DeSoto County crash 

Nov. 25, 2024 – A Memphis man has died in a weekend accident in DeSoto County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP). The collision occurred on Highway 178 about 10:50 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23.

MHP reports that a 2022 Honda Insight driven by 73-year-old Sheila A. Mannings of Memphis was traveling east on Highway 178 when it collided with a 2017 Toyota Camry driven by 57-year-old Lee A. Surall of Memphis, traveling west on the highway. 

Surall received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene. Mannings received moderate injuries from the crash and was transported to a local hospital.  

This crash is still under investigation.
