Man Faces Arson Charge for Mobile Home Fire in Panola County
JACKSON, Miss. — Deputies with the Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s Office assisted the Panola County Sheriff’s Office in arresting Arthur Strong on Sept. 30. He is charged with first-degree arson for allegedly setting fire to a single-wide manufactured home on Eureka Road in Batesville.
The fire happened Sept. 26. The Courtland and Pope Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the incident. The fire caused approximately $30,000 in damages.
Strong’s bond was set at $10,000. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
The charges against this individual are allegations, and individuals facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
